    Description

    Large-format fold-out 1955 Atlantic Refining Company road map of New Jersey, printed more than 64 years ago.
    The map opens to 32" x 23" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally.
    On the reverse side there's a road map of the eastern United States, from Maine to Florida, between Illinois and the Atlantic Ocean.
    The map was distributed by Atlantic in 1955 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 5-463943-16. Population data is from the 1950 census.
    The front cover artwork shows an Atlantic gas station near a highway overpass.
    The back cover shows a gas pump, two uniformed attendants, and a can of motor oil.
