Vintage Mickey and Minnie Dolls. These are a set of Mickey and Minnie dolls that are totally vintage. I am not 100% sure but I believe these to be made from a McCalls pattern taken from the original Charlotte Clark dolls. She made Mickey Mouse dolls for the Walt Disney Company in the 1930s and 40s and these look like hers. Not actually a Charlotte Clark but from a pattern of that. Now, these are rough hewn and totally hand made. There’s some machine sewing and some hand stitching like around their necks and faces and Minnie’s hem on her dress. Their hands and feet are so cute. The feet have a stiff bottom to make them flat and their hands have the black stitching on the backs of them. They only stand, not able to sit them. Although rough hewn, you can tell that a lot of work went into these by a detail-oriented person. Their little eyes are brown felt. Their ears are far back on their heads but if you look at the original Charlotte Clark dolls their ears are kind of like that too. Also, they are petite in their features, each only 14”. They are made from a nice cotton material and stuffed with a heavy cotton, not the cheap poly fill. That’s how I can tell they have some age to them. Minnie’s hat is new, though. I had that made for her. It isn’t attached to her head. There are no rips or stains on either of them, no yucky smells. Totally ready for display with your other Disneyana. Thanks for looking.
